AEROSPACE MUSEUM
MacAlpine Expedition

The 1929 MacAlpine Search is a legend in Canadian Aviation history, headlining in newspapers for 2 months. The historic story of Arctic peril will come to life with documents, photographs and artifacts associated with the expedition and rescue mission. The temporary exhibit will be on display from June 15, 2008 until September 30, 2008.

Ever touch a stingray? Check out the new Stingray Touch Tank at The Calgary Zoo! Swimming in their new 10,000 gallon tank, the cow-nosed rays are the Zoo’s newest residents inside Elephant Crossing! Feel how smooth they are, discover how they feed with their vacuum-like mouth’s and learn all about these fascinating fish and their relation to sharks!

Feeding times are limited and subject to change. A nominal charge of $2 to feed the rays will apply. Supervised interactions happen all day!

HERITAGE PARK
2008 Season

Once again Heritage Park, Historical Village is opening their gates for another fun filled season. Heritage Park is Canada’s largest living historical village, situated on 66 acres in the heart of Calgary. Beginning May 17 we invite you to step back and experience Western Canada 1864-1914. The Park is open 7 days a week from 9 am till 5 pm with live costumed interpreters bring the “Old West” history alive. A free western breakfast is offered daily from 9 am till 10 am with regular paid admission.

Heritage Park has over 150 historical exhibits, special events weekends, unique restaurants and opening this fall the Gasoline Alley Transportation Museum to appeal to children off all ages.

TELUS WORLD OF SCIENCE

The Living Sea
Take a journey of discovery to learn how the world’s ocean waters are linked by currents, tides and cycles. Audiences will feel the power of the ocean as they surf thundering waves in Hawaii and ride in a Coast Guard Rescue boat with cadets training to save lives. This film celebrates oceans—their beauty, diversity and importance to life on earth.

Sesame Street Presents: The Body (May 31st to Sept 11th)
is an amazing educational attraction featuring Elmo, Oscar, Grover and the rest of your Sesame Street friends. This interactive exhibit will teach children how their bodies work and how to keep them healthy as they hop, jump, run and dance their way through the hands-on adventure! All members of the family will have fun at the exhibit located on everyone’s favorite street! With exhibition kiosks including the “Count’s Organ Organ”, “Oscar’s Sneeze Machine”, “Rub-A-Dub Tub”, “Mr. Hooper’s Store” and “Grover’s Dance Party”, the exhibit is sure to include something for everyone.
