On the eve of the anniversary of the terrifying Rwanda massacre, Major (Retired) Jean-Yves St-Denis will share his experiences with the United Nations Assistance Mission in Rwanda (UNAMIR). Major (Ret'd) St-Denis took an assignment with the peacekeeping mission in Rwanda in 1994 where he served as the Military Logistics officer for General Romeo Dallaire and later as the Executive Assistant to the new Force Commander Major General Guy Tousignant.

2500 Years of Secret Writing by Derrick Harrison
Since before the time of Ancient Greece to the age of the Internet, various methods have been invented to send messages without them being read by "the enemy". The presentation will include demonstrations of some of the more important "coding" methods used over the millennia from Julius Caesar to the famous German Enigma machines of the Second World War. Coding machines used by the Japanese and the Allies in the same war will also be described.

Family Picnic Days at The Military Museums
9th BATTALION RIFLES (VOLTIGEURS) COMMEMORATIVE 1885, was formed in Calgary, Alberta in February 1985, with the kind permission of the present Voltigeurs de Quebec (Militia) in Quebec City, Quebec. As a Rifle Battalion, the unit wears a 'Rifle' uniform depicting the parade dress of the 9th Battalion Rifles, who saw active service in North West Canada during 1885. The unit relies upon the personal commitment of its volunteer members. The static displays and rifle drills offer the volunteers a unique opportunity to depict a part of Canada's and Alberta's history.

90th Anniversary of Commonwealth War Graves Exhibition
A photographic exhibition and a major publication to mark the 90th anniversary of its founding by Royal Charter on 21st May 1917. The book will comprise some 200 archival photographs plus new images commissioned by the photographer, Brian Harris. The exhibition of 40 to 50 photographs will be toured around the Commonwealth during 2007 to mark the anniversary and to serve as a further reminder of the Commissions valuable work.
